Biographical note
Acclaimed author of Confessions of a War Child trilogy, speaker, and reporter—grew up in a Palestinian refugee camp in Beirut. Always a dreamer, he immigrated to Canada and graduated with a B.A. in International Development Studies from York University in Toronto. An advocate for humanitarian causes, Chaker was named Esquire Man of the Year (2015) and Most Influential Arab Under 40 (2016). He has won several awards for his novels and articles in the Huffington Post. Reporting on the refugee crisis in 2015, interviews often took place in conflict zones where the events of Tale of Tala were inspired.
