Biographical note
David Wolfe is the first recipient of the RBC Investments Chair in Developmental Psychopathology and Children''s Mental Health at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, University of Toronto, and the Academic Director of the Center for Research on Violence Against Women and Children. He enjoys teaching child psychopathology, child assessment and psychotherapy and community psychology to undergraduate students. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of South Florida in Tampa and completed his residency in clinical psychology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. David is a founding member of the Center for Research on Violence Against Women and Children and a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA), where he served as president of Division 37: Child, Youth, and Family Services. He lends special focus to child abuse, domestic violence and development and developmental psychopathology, as well as the impact of early childhood trauma on later development in childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. Currently, David focuses on studying ways to prevent violence in relationships with adolescents. Katherine Nguyen Williams, Ph.D. is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and Director of Strategic Development and Clinical Innovations at Rady Children''s Hospital - San Diego, Department of Outpatient Psychiatry (RCHOP). She is a licensed child and adolescent psychologist specializing in assessment and evidence-based treatments for child and adolescent mental disorders. She is the training director for the RCHOP child rotation for the APA-accredited UCSD/VA Internship and SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program practicum training programs. She earned her Ph.D. at Loma Linda University, completed her residency in clinical child psychology at the University of California, San Diego, and obtained her post-doctoral fellowship at the Child and Adolescent Services Research Center. Dr. Nguyen Williams founded the Center for Child and Adolescent Testing and a pediatric anxiety/OCD program and autism assessment center serving children from low-income and diverse backgrounds.
