Synopsis

The nation's leading sports cartoonist delivers a hu-morous,outrageous, and irreverent collection of parodies guaranteed to elicit laughs. Steve Moore has done it again. In the spirit of cartoonists B. Kliban, Gary Larson, Charles Addams, and Gahan Wilson, the nation's leading sports cartoonist tackles, well, everything! Football, baseball, basketball, skiing, hunting, fishing, jogging, golf--even chess. No sport is spared from Moore's wickedly clever gags, drawn from the viewpoints of players, fans, and couch potatoes everywhere.

  • It contains some "serious" sports humor
    From Amazon

Each sport has its' own language, culture and history, it is a nutshell in the conglomeration of human existence. The word "fan" is shortened from "fanatic" as some followers of a sport are more than a little bit on the nutty side. Steve Moore is also significantly on the nutty side, yet that tilt has great entertainment value, as his cartoons are very funny. Every page in this collection is a demonstration of this; Moore captures the essence of the odd side of sports, from both the participants and fan's perspective. Nearly every sport is the target of his parodies in this book, so if you are in need of some serious chuckles and enjoy sports, then this book will serve you well.

  • A Little Dull
    From Amazon

Not as good as I remembered, I bought one of his books in high school and loved it. Even though I think he rips off Gary Larson a ton, my friends and I thought it was funnier than Far Side. This book was not that funny.

  • Subtle and over the top humor...
    From Amazon

Arguably the most consistently funny panel since "The Far Side." A great collection. Viva en la bleachers!
