Childhood Friends Reunite to Rendezvous!

All giggles and wiggles, Lisa and Amy sealed their friendship under the pink ruffles of a canopy bed, promising to be friends forever. They remained inseparable until an argument over Lisa’s prom date divides them. In a plan that could only be devised by their heavenly Father, Amy and Lisa end up in the same hospital emergency room years later. With their promise to always be there for each other unexpectedly fulfilled, the two friends grow close again. Amy reminds Lisa of one of their childhood promises yet to be realized—their plan to rendezvous in Paris . Amy and Lisa find a way to make good on their Parisian promise from thirty years ago and pack their bags for the adventure of a lifetime. From becoming unexpected counselors for a rocky marriage to scaling the Eiffel Tower to winking at Mona Lisa in the Louvre, these two Sisterchicks find the treasures of Europe can’t compare with the gems of a friendship renewed for eternity!

C’est magnifique!

SISTERCHICK n.: a friend who shares the deepest wonders of your heart, loves you like a sister, and provides a reality check when you’re being a brat.

When they were little girls, Amy made Lisa promise her that someday they’d go to Paris and walk down the Champs-Elysées together looking tres chic. After all, Amy’s classy grandmother was from Paris. Then over the years, they drifted apart. But some promises seem to be held for safekeeping in the courts of heaven until the time is right, and these reconnected friends-for-life are handed the opportunity to see Paris together! Lisa’s only response to her patient friend is, “Oui oui, mon ami!”

The City of Lights turns out to be all Amy ever promised, with world-class shopping, flaky croissants, the Eiffel Tower, Monet’s Water Lilies, and food running the gamut from frog legs to fabulous chocolate. Of course, there are also con men, indignant waiters, and spring cloudbursts. But nothing deters these Sisterchicks as they set out to climb a few personal “ Eiffel Towers” in this next season of life. The only way to go is step by step together under the careful protection of their Heavenly Papa, who showers them with grace upon grace.

Story Behind the Book

“Each of the Sisterchicks books portrays the reality of how a close friendship between two women can draw them closer to God, and reveal clear direction for their futures. In Sisterchicks Say Ooh-La-La!, readers discover the value of rekindling an old friendship and replacing old, incorrect assumptions with new truth. I hope readers will take away a sense of God’s immense plan for His children and His unending grace in every season of life.”

I just love the SisterChicks books. They are such a light easy read, After reading a very intense book that you have to consentrate on this is a very nice easy relaxing fun book to read. It is about Good friends reuniting after years apart and picking up their friendship from where they are now. They ladies seemed to have switched places in many ways. They now can teach each other many useful and inspirational things. I also felt like I learned alot about Paris. Like the other Sisterchicks books I am sure it is very informative about the places in Paris. I found the books written about places I have been very accurate. I will buy more of these bookks and recommend them to friends. Thanks, Lou, Bookworm

  • French adventure for two Sisterchicks
    From Amazon

For Amy and Lisa going to Paris had been a promise that was made long ago in Amy's childhood bedroom. Now the two Sisterchicks are on the way to the City of Lights. I can definitely identify with Lisa's upbringing. The perfectionism she had to deal with from her mother is something I struggle with myself. This book was a great reminded of how we should go with the flow sometimes, and this is how the best adventures are gained. I have been to Paris a few times, and this book actually made me want to revisit some of the places I had been such as Sacre Coeur (what a lovely view of the city and the inside of the church is gorgeous). Any that go to Paris for the first time should definitely take the Rick Steves book that another reviewer mentioned. I think you will like it even better after reading this book because the Rue Cler area is one of Steves' favorites in Paris. You can even have your own Lisa and Amy Parisian adventure. There were definitely some funny moments in this book such as the stealing of luggage and the eating of other diners leftovers. Read it and laugh. I really can recommend this book whole heartedly for your arm chair trip to Paris and for a good Sisterchick outing with a postive message.

  • Refreshing and light but thought-provoking reading...

An encouraging "read" that pushed me to remember that we can always grow in the weak areas of our lives. I love Robin Jones Gunn's books and this book is a great success as she continues to highlight the blessing of having and being a good friend.
