The concept of BODY MIND BALANCING is that our thoughts and ideas have been trained to be one way, while our bodies operate naturally, which generally puts the two at odds. The harder you try to force them together, the more they fight each other. This book hopes to help you find a way to balance them, so that you can function at your highest level mentally, physically, and emotionally. It only follows naturally that if each person could reach their best level, the world as a whole would be better.
This book requires that you keep an open mind. I also found that you have to be willing to take the author with a large grain of salt. There are times when he seems to be overly impressed with his own intelligence and message. He seems to have some issues with major religions in general. Also, not all of his ideas are completely real world practical.
If you can get past those things you'll find that the author makes some very good points in this book. Many of them seem so simple and obvious it's hard to imagine that we don't automatically behave that way. I especially liked the idea/realization that your body knows what it wants and when it wants it. To give it different things when it doesn't want them seems absurd, yet we all do it every day.
Included with the book is a meditation CD. I'm not sure I can review it for you. All guided meditation attempts seem to put me to sleep. Unless it was actually just a really deep state of meditation, in which case, it worked!

Very helpful

An excellent book! It is a compilation of parts of Osho's talks. People of today have got out of touch with their own body. Even donkeys know what to eat, what their body needs, what is good for them, but man does not? Osho talks of regaining that intuition, getting friendly with the body, listening to it. Most other books and teachers just give blind rules to follow: eat this, and don't eat that, do so and so, and don't do so and so. But Osho talks of "listening" to our body, so that we naturally and spontaneously know what the body needs. The feeling that comes is something to experience.
The CD included with this book is one of Osho's Meditative Therapies. I did it after having gone through his active meditations. And I have a *personal opinion* that it will work better after trying active meditations for a while.
He answers many questions, about food, health, relaxation...
An amazing and incomparable book..
Not much new here
From Amazon
Not much new in this book of Rashneesh What's his name turned Osho. Hung up on sex to be sure, but everything else he says has been said by others in hundreds of books, lectures...and said better and with less emphasis on the genital area. I bought it because a friend said she liked him. I should have given the money to some of the homeless I meet on the streets. More value for my money.
And I have two other of his books to plough through...but will probably give away before I get too far into them unless they really surprise me and that I doubt.
Extremely helpful for support in a health crisis
From Amazon
For 4 months I was going though a health crisis, which could not be identified by the doctors and left me drained, exhausted and very worried. A friend handed me this wonderful book with a guided meditation by Anando Hershley.
I started my mornings with relaxing in bed and go into the process of 'The Forgotten language of talking to my body'.
This is a wonderful process invented by Osho to connect with the sub-conciousness
here called 'The Guardian' and to allow the body to take over its own healing process.
It connects the healing processes of the body with the mind and spirit. This process worked for me and I highly recommend it.
