How far will Rose go to keep her promise?

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them. . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

I read book 1-4 in 4 them. Blood Promise was the best book yet and I can't wait for book 5 to be released in May. Great series!

It was a great book. I can't wait until the next book comes out. I'm very curious.

  • Another Great Addition To This AMAZING Series!
    From Amazon

I've probably mentioned this an hundred times before, but I'm still going to for the 101th time because it's 100 percent true. Vampire Academy is by far my favorite vampire series out there and in the top three of my favorite series overall. Blood Promise was just as amazing and mind blowing as the previous installments. Richelle just has this talent to make you became completely intertwined in her books from the start. Since, she makes you laugh at the funny parts and your heart continue to ache as Rose went on the harrowing journey to kill Dimitri. One of my favorite parts of this book was the new fabulous characters we met along with Rose as she journeyed through Siberia. I really hope Sydney, Abe, and a few others make appearances in the next two books, because I truly enjoyed reading about them. I also liked how Adrian's character continued to grow throughout the story in way that showed he would never stop caring for Rose. This all made him one guy I wouldn't mind seeing Rose end up with. Well, only if the miracle I'm hoping for with Dimitri doesn't work out. Lastly, I loved the twists and turns Richelle kept throwing in, especially towards the end, because they made the story go in a fast pace. The one thing that I didn't fully enjoy about this was how Lissa got when Rose left her. I mean, seriously, it's time for Lissa to start standing up for herself. I do understand, though, that there were criticisms that made her act the way she did. But she still should had the common sense to not ruin almost all the good things she had going for her. Luckily, this didn't detract from the overall story too much and Lissa had already begun to redeem herself in my eyes by the last couple of chapters. Overall, Blood Promise is a book to enjoy thoroughly and one that will make you sad when it's over. Since, all you want to do is find out what happens next as soon possible. Sadly, Spirit Bound doesn't hit shelves till next May, the 18th to be exact. I highly recommend this series. Grade: A+

  • Not The Best of the Series, Still Good Though
    From Amazon

I am not going to post the official synopsis because it contains spoilers, rather here is my unofficial synopsis of Blood Promise by Richelle Mead: Rose leaves St. Vladimir's to go to Siberia. In Siberia she meets lots of people, adventures ensue. Lissa stays behind. Lissa meets new people. Hijinks ensue. I am a bit torn on how I feel about Blood Promise. I mean, I am quite intoxicated by the Vampire Academy books and just want to know what happens. However, there were certain things which turned me off with this book. For instance, certain characterizations bothered me. I understand it was necessary to characterize someone a certain way to demonstrate the differences, but I just didn't like it. Also there were certain plotlines which I felt went nowhere in the book. For example a completely new concept is thrown into the mix and I thought oh, wow I'm really getting into this plotline I wonder where it's going to leave. Then, it just stops. No continuation. Nothing. Just ends. I'm going to try to reserve my judgement on that, because maybe Mead is going to reintroduce the plot line in Spirit Bound and it will serve some importance and it was just there in Blood Promise to introduce the concept. Now, please don't think I hated this book, because I did not. In fact, I enjoyed the tug-of-war it played with my emotions. I got so hopeful then bam my hopes were smashed. Also some unexpected events occured, and I wonder how they will be resolved in the next book. Oh and did I mention that I cried during Blood Promise. Granted, it wasn't something to cry over, basically Rose is just pouring herself out to Lissa, but still I've had those friends where I can tell them anything and I know how it feels to have that release. Hence, the good cry. Let's see what else did I enjoy... The new setting was a great change, you should know I am a bit obsessed with Russia, I love reading about Russia and love Russian lit, so that part was awesome for me! Oh and there was some characterization that I did enjoy, someone becomes kick-butt, we get to know one character a little more, and again, Rose becomes more three-dimensional.

  • will admit I didn't read the entire book....
    From Amazon

So, I will admit I didn't read the entire book. I wasn't sure I would even get into the whole vamp teen thing...but I've really enjoyed this series. I read book 3 in one day and started on Blood Promise the next day. I LOVE Dimitri! I am not your typical romance junkie...I normally find it completely boring...but I really like the chemistry between Rose and Dimitri. I ended up skipping through parts of the book just to get to the part where they finally meet up.(not b/c it is lacking in any way...I was just being impatient!) Looking forward to book 5!
