- World eBook Fair 2009
July 4 to August 4 Established in 2006, the World eBook Fair (WeBF) is produced by the World Public Library Association with the goal to create equal access to knowledge and opportunity, especially to improve student achievement but also to provide access to a huge collection of eBooks worldwide for a month. The World eBook Fair is created with the help of more than 100 electronic libraries from around the world. This year, the aim is to provide access to 1.5 million e-books!
- Edinburgh International Book Festival 2009
August 15-31, 2009 The Edinburgh International Book Festival (EIBF) is a large-scale book celebration with more than 700 events and close to a quarter million visitors. The festival attracts writers, poets, thinkers, musicians and readers of all ages and from all over the globe. Previous participants have included J.K. Rowling, Toni Morrison, Salman Rushdie, Al Gore and Susan Sontag. EIBF coincides with the Edinburgh International Festival of performing arts and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the world’s largest art fair, referred to as the Edinburgh Festival, a series of arts and cultural events held in August.
- Delhi Book Fair
29 August - 6 September 2009 Delhi Book Fair, apart from offering a vast scope for short-term business transaction has become arena for co-publishing agreements, translation, copyright, reprinting arrangements and establishing new business contacts. The success of the fair can be judged by ever increasing number of exhibitors and visitors along with the growing presence of overseas participants. The 15th Delhi Book Fair, once again, will be organised by the Federation of Indian Publishers, in collaboration with the India Trade Promotion Organisation, the apex trade promotion body of Government of India. This fair is an effort to emphasise the never fading appeal of the printed word even in the modern age of compurters, e-mails and SMSs. India has the unique distinction of publishing books in more than 24 languages with an annual turnover of Rs. 100,000 million. India also ranks among the first seven publishing nations.

10 - 20 Sep 2009 This September sees the 13th edition of the Rio Book Fair, a major event in Brazilian publishing, bringing together authors, publishers, journalists, booksellers and readers in the huge convention center, Riocentro. As well as the usual exhibits and banter, there will also be a full cultural program, including writer discussions, poetry events and activities for children and teenagers.

24 - 27 Sep 2009 The Book Fair is a four day long literary festival.
