- Never has an original edition of a 20th century novel been auctioned at the reamrkable price of £275 000. The book in question is Ulysses by James Joyce. The auction was held at the fair for old books, which lasts until this Saturday at Olympia, West London, UK.
- Cai Chongguo, an active member of the student movement of May and June protests of 1989 in China, was in Beijing on June 4, the day of the Tienanmen Square massacre. He now lives in exile in Paris and has not returned in twenty years. He created an organization in Hong Kong through which he intervenes on radios emitting in China thanks to an Internet network, incessantly pleading for democracy in his country.He has recently published a book entitled « J’etais a Tienanmen » (I was in Tienanmen) by L’esprit du temps.
