An elderly couple leaves their village in Lebanon to visit their children and grandchildren now living in the new world: Prince Edward Island, Canada. They find a world of peace and great comfort, but despite the war back home, the old man longs for his small village and a way of life deeply etched in his heart. Nasrallah skillfully weaves truth and imagination to create a story rich in human emotion and psychological insight. The novel stands as witness to a time and its people, a mirror of the whole culture and historical movement that is Lebanon of the present. A work that exempli¬fies the strength of the modern Arabic novel, Flight against time reflects the emotions, ideals and passions that all immigrants experience, be they our ancestors or our neighbours of today.

Biographical note
أديبة لبنانية رائدة، عملت في الصحافة، ثمّ غلب عليها الأدب فانصرفت إلى كتابة الرواية والقصّة والسيرة وأدب الفتيان والأطفال. تُرجِم الكثير من كتبها إلى الإنكليزية والألمانية والدانمركية والفنلندية والتايلندية. حصلت على جوائز عديدة منها جائزة الشّاعر سعيد عقل في لبنان وجائزة مجلّة فيروز، وجائزة جبران خليل جبران من رابطة التراث العربيّ في أستراليا، كما نالت عام 2018 وسام الأرز اللبناني عن رتبة كومندور تقديرًا لعطاءاتها الأدبية.
